Re: Remote Learning Details
At rare times throughout the school year the district may be forced to close the school campus due to weather conditions or other emergency situations. If a school campus closure occurs on a scheduled student day, all students will pivot to remote learning. The remote learning opportunity provides an improved continuity of education that keeps students engaged in learning when an emergency occurs that necessitates a school campus closure.
Below is brief overview of details on how this situation affects the various grade levels of students.
Elementary Students: Kindergarten
· Kindergarten students have been provided “Emergency Classwork Packets” to be kept at home.
· These packets are only to be opened during a remote learning day.
· The course materials will provide a level of continuity for students to stay engaged in learning.
· Kindergarten teachers will communicate through Class DoJo with packet instructions and additional details for that specific day.
· Teachers will be available through email and Class Dojo.
Elementary Students: Grades 1-6
· Students who do not have access to a computer or device at home have been provided a Chromebook device (on October 12th) to be kept at home for this school year. This device should be used for homework, research, and other learning opportunities including during remote learning days.
· Students will access and complete their classwork via Google Classroom.
· Students and Teachers will follow the traditional school daytime schedule and teachers will be available (as able) to engage with students through email and live Google Meet sessions.
· In some instances, students have been provided “Emergency Classwork Packets” to be kept at home as another means of classwork in case they are unable to access Google Classroom.
High School Students: Grades 7-12
· Students should be taking their Chromebook home each day.
· Students will access their classwork via Google Classroom.
· Students and Teachers will follow the traditional school day bell schedule and teachers will be available (as able) to engage with students through email and live Google Meet sessions.
· Students must complete Google Classroom work and certify their daily attendance by responding to a survey sent via email.
