Jackson Green began his role as the new principal of Wyalusing Valley Jr. Sr. High School in July 2024. Hailing from Western Maryland, Mr. Green is a proud alumnus of Beall High School. He pursued higher education at Allegany College of Maryland, where he earned multiple Associate degrees in Political Science, Criminology, and Criminal Justice.
Furthering his academic journey, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Psychology with a minor in Economics, and a Master’s degree in Teaching Social Studies Education from Frostburg State University. His commitment to professional development led him to complete post-graduate work at McDaniel College and earn his Administration Certificate from Shippensburg University in 2017.
Mr. Green's career in education began as a secondary social studies teacher, where he taught a diverse range of courses, inspiring countless students whom he remains connected with today.
Before joining Wyalusing, Mr. Green served as the principal of Charles M. Sumner Learning Campus in rural Maine, overseeing the education of students from 6th to 12th grade. Mr. Green’s dedication to education has been recognized through several accolades. In 2013, he was honored as an "Outstanding Educator" by Carroll County Public Schools in Maryland. In 2019, his exemplary teaching skills earned him the title of "Distinguished Teacher" from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Outside the academic realm, Mr. Green is an enthusiastic supporter of Boston sports teams, including the Red Sox, Patriots, and Bruins. He has a passion for travel, having explored over 12 different countries. Mr. Green is happily married to his high school sweetheart, Kate, and they are proud parents of our four amazing daughters -- all named after presidents.
Mr. Green brings a wealth of experience, a passion for education, and a personal commitment to the community to his role as principal of Wyalusing Valley Jr. Sr. High School.
